Alpenrose Cyclo-Cross Clinics
This page is dedicated to sharing the Alpenrose 'Cross Clinics put on each year by Kona pro and Sellwood Cycle Repair owner, Erik Tonkin, and his team of coaches. This phenomenon in the 'Cross Mecca of the United States occurs each year in September and draws over 200 participants each week. Attendees get coached by top pro and amateur 'cross racers and professional coaches in developing better technique to help them improve their performance and overall enjoyment of the sport come 'cross season. Please check out the clinic in all it's glory and take advantage of the FREE technique and training tips, tools and resources included throughout. Coaching Erik his team of coaches leads groups broken up by skill level and experience in technique instructions, skill development and drills. Each group benefits from personal instruction by several coaches.
Practice, practice, practice! Clinic attendees get to put what they learn to practice in drills set up by the coaches, culminating in putting it all together on different sections of a mock course.
Kiddie 'Cross Every year there is a group just for the kids to get their feet wet in the sport of 'cross. Kids have fun being involved rather than just being baby-sat!
Product Raffle Each year Erik raffles off a ton of products donated by local businesses, season racing passes to the 'Cross Crusade and a Kona 'cross racing bike.
