Well, I didn’t beat Justin England’s record. BIG SURPRISE!
But we did all have a great time suffering like dogs up Mt Tam. Like the true idiot I am, I attacked everyone at the base only to get dropped like a hot potato to suffer alone the rest of the way up.

Specialized MTB pro, Chris Peariso took the honors at the top, closely followed by Veloshop’s Stephen Hunter and local boy Jeff Sigman, then yours truly. PR’s were set by many of the campers, even in a state of fatigue, and on a chilly Nor Cal day.

I averaged 300w for the 37 min climb which matches my peak fitness of years ago. Not bad for an old man. A definite sign of good things to come. (See file above)
The effort sure put a sting in most of our legs, making lunch and post ride massages that much more appealing and necessary. The campers conitnued their recovery with a Yoga class while we downloaded power files to review with them after dinner.

All in all, another amazing day here in Marin. What a great camp! Tomorrow we ride the Alpine Dam loop to help recover and prepare the legs for our 100 mile finale on Saturday. Here’s to another good night’s sleep!
